Global think tank ranking. CMCC featured again as one of the best worldwide

An analysis about research activities, influence, reliability of top think tanks in the world. The Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change shows a good positioning while featuring as one of the best worldwide and the first Italian think tank in the special annual ranking realized by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program of the University of Pennsylvania.

Its name is Global Go To Think Tank Index (GGTTTI) and is a ranking that by using specific indicators and characteristics maintains a database of over 6,500 think tanks from all over the world while realizing a classification by categories, geographic regions, issues.

The 8th edition of the Global Go To Think Tank Index, a report realized by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program of the University of Pennsylvania, was published with the contributions of over 1,500 institutions and experts from the media and the publishing industry domain, from academia, public and private institutions from all over the world. The result is a series of classification assessing the activities of the best 150 think tanks.

In the 2014 edition, The CMCC – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change showed a good positioning while ranking as one of the best research centers. It attests its ability to produce high quality research that is accessible to policymakers, media and the public while engaging them on key issues at the national and at the international level. More in detail, in the last two years the CMCC featured in the top think tanks worldwide (non-U.S.) classification while ranking first among the Italian institutions.

This result represents an important recognition of CMCC’s work in Italy and at the international level while highlighting its role as a center of excellence both as climate research center and think tank, institutions defined by the report itself as “a bridge between the academic and policymaking communities and between states and civil society, serving in the public interest as independent voices that translate applied and basic research into a language that is understandable, reliable, and accessible for policymakers and the public”.
