The project aims at more sustainable production processes of the 3 local agricultural companies involved through the innovative analysis of the production process, known as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), based on the latest research in the national and international field of which the CMCC is a leader in the local context.

General aims
The LCA analysis, applied thanks to the experience and expertise of the CMCC aims to:
- Identify the environmental impacts of the local agro-food production;
- identify and propose innovative key based on the introduction of eco-friendly techniques and energy saving in the production process that can reduce costs and environmental impacts;
- transfer the know-how of environmental sustainability at the local agro-food industry and raise the level of awareness of employers in relation to the results of research;
- increase the competitiveness of the final agro-food products;
- promote the dissemination of the project results and of new eco- sustainable production processes in the agro-food sector.
CMCC Role
The CMCC will coordinate and conduct the LCA analysis and will be responsible for managing the timing and organization of the plan for dissemination of results, together with all partners.
Expected results
Calculation of the quantity of emissions of CO2eq 3 products associated with the 3 product of the local agro-food chain (olive oil, bread, wine).

- Assessment of the sustainability of the agro-food production;
- Assessment of impacts by category;
- Definition of new processes and innovative technologies environmentally sustainable.
