General aims
The objective of BOOSTER BLUE is to develop and intertwine microeconomic (Revealed Preference Methods and Agent Based Methods) with macroeconomic (Computable General Equilibrium) models that inform and contribute to the development of an efficient and effective water policy.
Theoretical constructions will be illustrated with empirical applications in the Pinios River Basin District (RBD) in Greece, the Cyprus Island, the South West RBD in the UK, the Po RBD in Italy and the Segura RBD in Spain.
CMCC Role
BOOSTER BLUE is an AXA Postdoctoral Fellowship.
CMCC hosts the project and offer scientific supervision to the Fellow, Dr. Carlos Dionisio Perez Blanco.
Expected results
BOOSTER BLUE will advance research on water markets and drought insurance through the estimation, for the first time in the areas of project interest, of the full economic cost (direct and indirect) of these instruments, accounting also for transaction costs in the case of water markets (through ABM).

Start-up Stage: data availability check; dataset building; policy makers and stakeholders engagement;
Modelling Stage: development and testing RPM-CGE and RPM-ABM-CGE models;
Consolidation Stage: development of analytical framework; academic outreach; science-policy workshop; dissemination events with the wider public.
