E=MC2 is a 6-months lasting project financed by Unioncamere and ECOCERVED. It evaluated the role of energy production from waste in order to achieve climate change mitigation commitments for Italy. Through an improved version of the ICES model , the project assessed the reduction in the economic costs of mitigation policies due to the development in Italy of energy from waste, given the reduction in the use of fossil fuels for energy production and the related reduction in greenhouse gases.
