Climate Change Impacts and Policy in the Mediterranean Basin

It’s open the call for applications for the the Summer School on “Climate Change Impacts and Policy in the Mediterranean Basin”. The School is jointly organized  by the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) and the International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG) and is targeted to doctoral and post – doctoral students in environmental and resources economics, law, political science and engineering from all over the world.
The Mediterranean basin is one of the most vulnerable regions in the world due to the effects of climate change, its precarious socio – economical conditions, and its fragile political systems. Developing new methods of risk management and governance, and a coherent climate change policy followed by the Mediterranean region as a whole have become some crucial tasks to address.
The main objectives of the School is to deeply investigate key issues such as climate change impacts, energy, agriculture, adaptation and climate policies in the Mediterranean basin with the objective to enhance a real awareness among students, policy makers, governments and representatives of the local communities involved.

 

The deadline for applications is 15 January 2013.
