Communicating climate science, the Internet may be the key

Real-time and digital media are going to be critical for science communication. By using them, climate scientists can follow up how their own work is reported and respond to misinterpretations. But digital media can also be current tools to provide the public opinion with scientific-sounding excuses to reject science if you don’t like its conclusions. In this interview by Mauro Buonocore, sociologist and science communication expert Lawrence Hamilton (Carsey Institute at the University of New Hampshire) tells “Climate Science and Policy” why climate scientists should make an effort in learning how to use new media.
