The INGV-CMCC has performed a set of climate scenario integrations following the protocol prescribed for the IPCC CMIP3 simulations. The integrations cover the preindustrial period, the XX and XXI centuries with radiative forcings obtained from the SRES (Special Report on Emission Scenarios, IPCC 20001) and the CO2 1%/year increase experiments. In the latter the atmospheric concentration of CO2 is doubled (after about 70 years) and quadrupled (after about 140 years) with respect to the preindustrial value.
All the output of the simulations, which cover about 730 years and consist of 9TB of data, have been stored and available at the web portal of the Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI) and on the INGV-CMCC archive.
