Viola holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs from the University of Bologna (with a six-month Erasmus experience at the University of Lisbon) and a Master’s degree in International Political Economy from the University of Groningen . As a core part of the Master’s curriculum, she interned at the Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean based in Lisbon, supporting the organization of business meetings and the draft of strategic documents.
Afterwards she joined the greenwerk, an advisory firm for climate and sustainable energy policy based in Hamburg. She contributed to the realization of consultancy projects for the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) concerning the assessment of the indirect climate impacts of GIZ’s energy portfolio as well as the analysis of CDM projects for the Nitric Acid Climate Action Group.
Later she took part in the one-year civil service programme at the Fondo Ecuatoriano Populorum Progressio in the Ecuadorian Amazon (El Coca). She collaborated to the implementation of a EU funded project focused on the protection of human rights of indigenous communities.
Back in Italy, Viola worked as a project officer at Africa and Mediterraneo, a nonprofit organization based in Bologna, where she contributed both to the operational management of two EU funded projects and to the draft of project proposals.
In September 2020, she joined CMCC at the Fund Raising office in Milan. She analyses and monitors possible funding opportunities and supports the management of funded projects.
