Veronica studied Physics and a Master in Meteorology and Geophysics at Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) in Spain, where she acquired a background in climate sciences. She joined the Climate Forecasting Unit (CFU) at the Catalan Institute of Climate (IC3) in October 2013 where she worked in the adaptation of the existing tools in the CFU unit to create the necessary material for the development of climate services for the wind energy sector. After that, she joined the Earth Sciences Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center where she did a Ph.D. thesis while she was involved in different European Projects (EUPORIAS, SPECS, NEWA, S2S4E) and national initiatives (RESILIENCE). The overall aim of her Ph.D. was the assessment of different statistical post-processing methods that are applied to improve the quality of the seasonal forecasts produced by seasonal prediction systems (link: ). Then, these improved predictions have been used for the development of tailored information for wind energy users. Currently, Verónica is a post-doctoral researcher working in the CSP group at the Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (CMCC) on the development of methods to enhance the climate information for stakeholders in different sectors.
