Baordo Fabrizio

via C. Berti Pichat 6/2 - 40127 Bologna, Italy

Fabrizio Baordo received his PhD in Remote Sensing at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” working in collaboration with the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (ISAC), Research National Council (CNR), of Rome.

After the PhD, Fabrizio was able to consolidate his knowledge in Numerical Weather Prediction systems working in public and private institutions (The European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, The Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Weatherzone Australia). In this context, he was able to develop his experience with numerical models of the atmosphere such as the assimilation (4D-Var) of microwave satellite, the radiative transfer, the scattering of particles and the surface emissivity (land and sea-ice).

His main research activity at CMCC concerns the development of a global wave model that might include data assimilation and the possibility of being coupled with the ocean circulation model.
