Alessio Collalti has a degree in Natural Science and a PhD in Forest Ecology.
His background concerns Forest Ecology, Carbon Cycle, Forest and Vegetation modeling, particularly with regard to vegetation numerical modeling and response under natural and anthropogenic stress, including climate change.

He has been working at the University of Tuscia (Viterbo, Italy), in the Laboratory of Forest Ecology of Prof Riccardo Valentini, where he is developed for his PhD thesis the 3D-CMCC Forest Ecosystem Model. Currently he works for the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) where he is directing his efforts towards the development of the source code and further model validations for even more structurally complex forests. In addiction he is addressing his research activities to the geo-biochemical processes into the CLM model.
In the last 4 years he follows some projects and collaboration including the Klaus project with European Space Agency and he is currently involved on the Gemina and Orientgate project.
