Paola holds a master’s degree in International Sciences and Diplomatic Relations from the University of Trieste, where she graduated with honours in 2014, with a thesis on the EU Emissions Trading System and the flexible mechanisms established by the Kyoto Protocol. She was awarded the “Brovedani Foundation” grant for the ten best Master’s degree students of Trieste University. Thanks to a Leonardo da Vinci’s Scholarship, she joined the “Green Promoters” Project, within which she spent three months as an intern at the Italian Institute of Culture in Prague. Paola was a visiting scholar at ICCG from September to December 2015, where she collaborated with the Climate Policy Observer and the Best Climate Practices Observatory, and she followed the COP21 negotiating process. During her period at ICCG, her research activity focused primarily on the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions to the Paris Agreement. Paola is currently a PhD candidate in Science and Management of Climate Change at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Her major research interests revolve around the impact of climate change on societies, and she’s particularly interested in the climate-conflict nexus and in the equity issues arisen from environmental challenges.
