Rio+20 and its double challenge: energy poverty and climate change

The lack of access to energy in not developed areas is a crucial challenge for decision makers and expert discussing in Rio about sustainable development. As the UN Secretary General declared that 2012 would be the year of “Sustainable Energy for all”, the debates on energy poverty and mitigation strategies are closely related.

RE3, the magazine edited by FEEM, hosts a discussion with contribution by Arno Behrens (Centre for European Policy Studies), Laura Cozzi (International Energy Agency), Shonali Pachauri (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis) and Josué Tanaka (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development).
