Research fellowship professionalizing: “Large scale data analysis for climate data” and “New algorithmic approaches for ocean models at exascale”

In relation to the HPC-TRES program, it is open a call for aplication for training and research awards. CMCC will offer logistic support and hospitality to the winners of the two research fellowship professionalizing in the field of “Large scale data analysis for climate data” and “New algorithmic approaches for ocean models at exascale”.

“HPC Training and Research for Earth Sciences” (HPC-TRES) is a training program focussed on High Performance Computing (HPC) applications for Earth Science. The program, realized through an agreement between OGS  and CINECA, is co-sponsored by the Minister of Education, University and Research (MIUR) under its extraordinary contribute for the Italian participation to activities related to the international infrastructure PRACE – The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe.

Some Italian research groups and institutions (INGV-PisaCNR/ISACCNR/IGGCMCCICTP-ESP), where the external members of the HPC-TRES Steering Committee lead their research activities and personally contributed to define the scientific plan of the HPC-TRES program (CMCC is represented by Prof. Giovanni Aloisio), have already subscribed the HPC-TRES initiative, offering logistic support and hospitality to the winners of the training and research awards sponsored by OGS.

The two research fellowship professionalizing connected to the CMCC activities are the following:

  • 1 research fellowship professionalizing in the field of “Large scale data analysis for climate data”
  • 1 research fellowship professionalizing in the field of “New algorithmic approaches for ocean models at exascale”
