European Researchers’ Night | h. 19:00 – 23:00 pm
Lecce, Italy
Climate change is one of the most complex challenges of the future world. The way we will be able to make key decisions about our future and the world as it will be in a few decades depends on our current capacity of predicting how climate will interact with socio-economic systems and how our societies will cope with climate change impacts or how we will manage to limit its negative effects. Fondazione CMCC makes available the knowledge produced through its ITC structure (among the most important ones in Europe) hosted at the Lecce university campus, the processing data generated by its supercomputer, the forecast models, and the capacities of the Lab of Operational Oceanography that produces services for all sea users and for the protection of the marine environment, particularly from marine litter. Different IT science-based applications allow getting to know in detail this cutting-edge scientific research that produces benefits for the entire human society.
