A new DRM Peer Review Assessment Framework (DRM PRAF) has just been released, marking a significant evolution in disaster risk governance. Developed through a participatory process, the framework was created to support countries and regions in strengthening resilience against emerging risks while integrating sustainability and climate adaptation considerations.
As the backbone of the UCPM Peer Review programme, the DRM PRAF ensures structured, standardised, and objective assessments. It has been continuously applied throughout the 2020–2024 programme cycle and has now been updated to reflect lessons learnt from recent disasters, advancements in risk management, and evolving policy priorities, including climate adaptation, systemic risk management, and cross-sectoral coordination.
CMCC researchers are proud to contribute their expertise, helping strengthen disaster resilience across Europe and beyond.
Currently there are two ongoing peer reviews: for Kosovo* and for Czechia.
*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo Declaration of Independence
Also, there is an open invitation for countries and regions to express interest in volunteering for a peer review. For information please email: [email protected].
