Climate is culture: where science meets art

The lecture “Climate is culture: where science meets art” has been organized by The International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG) in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
The speaker David Buckland, a renowned artist, filmmaker and designer, will explain his project “Cape Farewell”, created in 2001, which engages scientists and artists to consider climate change as a cultural responsibility. The artist will expand on how the Cape Farewell project started, illuminate some of its successes and address the urgency of de-carbonising our societies and, for us all, to engage in what could be an exciting and much more environmentally sound society.

The lecture will conclude with the screening of the film “Burning Ice”.

Introduced by Carlo Carraro, President, Ca’ Foscari University, Venice – Director, International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG). Moderated by Giuseppe Barbieri, Professor, Ca’ Foscari University, Venice.

The working language of the lecture will be English.

Admission free, subject to availability.
