Climate Change 2013 – The Physical Science Basis: the video

Posted on

The scientific evidence of climate change is stronger than ever. Better more observations, improved understanding of the climate system responses, further developments of climate models: all points in the same direction, that is, human influence on the climate system is clear. This is resulting from the combination of model simulations with the observed climate changes. Many of these observed changes are unusual or unprecedented on time scales of decades to millennia.
The Working Group I (WGI) contribution to the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) provides more accurate information while and reducing uncertainty. Now we know with greater certainty that the climate system is warming up: paleoclimate records show a close link between CO2 concentration and temperature (and this trend is also seen in current observations).
Moreover, we are close to the scientific certainty of the anthropogenic responsibility for climate change. What can we expect in the future, globally and locally, in the short term and in the long term?

The IPCC launches a video to present the Working Group I contribution to the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), now available.
