TESSA (Development of technologies for the “Situational Sea Awareness”) organizes the workshop: “Conoscere il mare: presente e futuro – Osservazioni, previsioni, servizi per una navigazione sicura e una corretta gestione dell’ambiente marino” (working language: Italian) to present services and products realized in the framework of the project.
The event will take place on November 11-12, 2013, in Lecce.

“SeaConditions”, the public service providing oceanographic, sea state and weather at sea forecasts via web and mobile devices, and specific products for marine safety (safer routes, search and rescue, better management of emergencies for lifesavers and for responders to pollution events, environmental indicators) will be presented.

TESSA is a project funded by PON “Ricerca e competitività” 2007-2013 and is an initiative of Links Management and Technology s.p.a. (coordinating organization), the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) and IAMC-CNR.
The project aims at improving and consolidating the products and the operational oceanography service, while integrating this service with technological platforms of dissemination of information for the ‘Situational Sea Awareness’.

The workshop is designed for potential users and its main purpose is to verify and test quality services and products while planning future actions and development.
