The programme is promoted by the University of Naples Federico II in collaboration with the Companies and Research Centres of the National Center for the Development of New Technologies in Agriculture (Agritech), which includes the CMCC – Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change. In particular, the CMCC is involved in the creation of an integrated model for the development of Italy’s marginal areas to promote multifunctional production systems enhancing agro-ecological and socio-economic sustainability.

The Agritech Academy is characterised by a strong integration of in-person and experiential learning. Seminars and presentations from the business world are also included. There are two phases:

  • a classroom training at the University Pole in San Giovanni a Teduccio;
  • a specialised training, in which students will work on concrete case studies alongside Agritech partner companies, following an individual or group path based on their previous experiences.

Lectures will be held by academics from Italian universities as well as technicians and managers from leading companies in the field of advanced technologies applied to agriculture.

The main thematic areas will be: remote monitoring using sensors on satellite platforms and drones, agricultural machinery for precision farming, technologies for managing crops, irrigation and fertirrigation technologies, technologies for protected crops, and digital transformation of the agri-business.
