Jacopo is a collaborator at the CMCC (RAAS division). He holds a master’s degree in Sciences and Technologies for the Environment from the University of Padova (2019), and he completed is Ph.D. course (thesis defense March 2024) with a topic about the mapping and quantification of extreme weather events (hailstorms and strong winds) in agriculture using remote sensing techniques, specializing in hyperspectral data analysis. He did his Erasmus at the University of Helsinki in 2018 and he spent a research period of 6 months at the Laboratory of Earth Observation at the University of Valencia in 2023, working on the application of machine learning algorithms fed with remote sensing data for strong winds damage mapping in agriculture. His research interests are focused on adaptation strategies and extreme weather event damage mapping and quantification. Out of the research, his interests are focused on folklore, climbing, mountaineering and analog photography.
