The First Annual Progress Meeting of CIRCLE-2 is organized in the context of CIRCLE-2 (“Climate Impact Research and Response Coordination for a Larger Europe”) FP7 ERA-Net project, by the Euro-Mediterranean Center for Climate Change in collaboration with the Foundation of the Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon University.
The two full-day international meeting will take place on June 21-22, at “San Giovanni in Monte” University Complex, Lecture Hall “Giorgio Prodi”, in Bologna, Italy.
The meeting format implies plenary sessions as well as break-out groups (DESIGN Workshop) on strategy, topics and initiatives.
About 60-80 participants are foreseen.
Objectives :
The meeting will present past and on-going activities carried out in CIRCLE-2 and provide an outlook into potential new ones.
The second day (June 22) will be structured as a DESIGN Workshop, in which several parallel session will serve to discuss potential joint initiatives on topics of the CIRCLE-2 Climate Adaptation Research Agenda that are at an advanced stage of development, as well as to start the assessment of other potential topics that have been identified as of being of common interest among partners.
Main objectives of this meeting are the following:
- Present CIRCLE-2’s first year (2010/11) activities and progress to all partners, contributing partners and advisors;
- Address key proposed activities for 2011/12;
- Present current interactions with other on-going projects, initiatives and frameworks on climate change research and policy and assess current and future needs of collaboration inside and outside CIRCLE-2 .
