The global average temperature has been constantly rising over the last 100 years.
More and more frequently environmental  disasters have hit  various regions  around the  globe, drastically affecting the  lives of millions of people. Climate change is probably one of the most pressing  and imminent economic problems the world is facing right now, more urgent even than international  financial crises or mass unemployment. Will we be able to stop  this trend? And how? The authors of this book agree that climate change and its consequences can only be countered through sustainable development.

The  International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG)  will present the book: “Il clima che cambia. Non solo un problema ambientale”, by  Carlo Carraro  and  Alessandra Mazzai, published by Il Mulino.

The book presentation meeting will be held on Wednesday, 16th December from  20.30 in Sala  Cinema Bersaglieri of Roma 221 street, Spinea (Venezia)  and it is opened to all the citizens of the area.
The speakers will discuss on climate change,  one of the most pressing  and imminent economic problems the world is facing right now.

Speakers:
Prof Carlo Carraro
Professor Carlo Carraro is the Director of ICCG.
He is a Professor of Environmental Economics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He has been President of the University of Venice from 2009 to 2014 and Director of the Department of Economics from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, he has been elected Vice-Chair of the Working Group III and Member of the Bureau of the Nobel Laureate Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He has been re-elected in 2015 for a second term. He is also Scientific Director of the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM), Executive Board Member of the Euro Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC) and Director of the International Centre for Climate Governance (ICCG).

Carlo Carraro is Co-Chair of the Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) Advisory Committee and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Harvard Environmental Economics Program (HEEP), the Institute for Economic Research (Ifo), Munich, and the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC), Berlin. He is research fellow of the CEPR (Center for Economic Policy Research), London, and CESifo (Center of Economic Studies), Munich, and Associate Research Fellow, CEPS (Center of Economic Policy Studies), Bruxelles.

He is the Editor of the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy, and belongs to the editorial board of numerous academic journals. He published more than 30 books and more than 200 articles on several economic, energy and environmental issues. His blog is www.carlocarraro.org.

In 2013 he has been named Grande Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana on the initiative of the President of Italy.

Alessandra Mazzai
Alessandra Mazzai has a first level Master in Environmental and Energy Economics and Management (MEMAE, 2009) from Bocconi University and a Masters in Communication Strategies from the University of Padua (2013).
She joined FEEM in September 2009, where she worked at the Fund Raising Office until December 2011, supporting the research proposal activities. She was also project manager and communication assistant at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC).
At ICCG, Alessandra is part of the team that developed the Think Tank Map project and she is currently Information and Communication Officer.
