The CLARA Summer School Climate Change and Health is designed for early-career scientists interested in exploring the links between climate change and human health. The programme will provide participants with a comprehensive overview of key topics in climate and health research, including climate epidemiology, data processing, an introduction to climate modelling, funding opportunities, and field-based activities.
The first two days of the programme will be dedicated to the expert workshop “Cascading Impacts of Heat Waves”, bringing together specialists from different fields to exchange knowledge and perspectives on the complex and cascading impacts of heat waves on health and society.
The Summer School will continue with a field trip, followed by three days of hands-on sessions and additional lectures, providing participants with opportunities to deepen their knowledge and engage with practical approaches to climate and health research.
CMCC will contribute to the workshop through a session by Marta Ellena, focusing on the importance of the science-policy interface in addressing climate change and health at both the European Union and international levels. Her contribution will also provide insights and discussion points to support the exchange of knowledge and perspectives throughout the workshop.
