Description:
The average planet temperatures have been rising for over one hundred years. This is the reason why we are increasingly facing the disastrous effects caused by extreme meteorological and climatic events, such as heat waves, torrential rains, hurricanes or unusually severe or prolonged droughts. Climate change control is therefore one of the most urgent economic (and ethical) issues that our society has to deal with. Can it still be done? How? The conference intends to answer these questions in a debate on the key topics and most important criticalities. In particular, by involving a large number of experts, the event will analyze different aspects of the problem, starting from the scenarios of temperature increase and the consequent impacts on the areas at risk, and then outlining the solutions at global and national levels. The conference will be an occasion for reflection and discussion in advance of the upcoming UN Paris Climate Conference aimed at finding a new global agreement for emissions reduction and impacts management.
