The webinar “Climate Information for the Governance Sector” will explore how climate predictions and tailored climate information can support regional and local authorities in addressing the growing impacts of climate change. As extreme events such as heatwaves, droughts and heavy rainfall increasingly affect European communities, decision-makers require reliable data and actionable indicators to strengthen adaptation planning and resilience strategies.
Focusing on the Emilia-Romagna case study, the webinar will present how the ASPECT project, of which the CMCC is a partner, worked with stakeholders through a co-production approach to identify user needs and develop climate indicators related to extreme rainfall and heatwaves. The event will also open a broader discussion on governance challenges faced by other regions and examine how climate information can be applied in different territorial and policy contexts to support evidence-based decision-making.
