The space-based IMPRESSIVE platform
The conference has the overall objective to promote and present the IMPRESSIVE solution (http://impressive-project.eu/), an innovative platform with cutting-edge technology which could contribute to the sustainability of the ports in Europe.
Participants will have the chance to learn more about the innovative platform and the story behind this marine initiative; join the debate in round tables with local and regional authorities, port authorities, industry, other maritime initiatives; and join an open discussion between experts and audience on current and future needs in terms of maritime services that could be fostered, implemented and integrated into the regional strategies.
The conference is addressed to potential users from the public and private sector: Port authorities, Local and Regional administrations, EU institutions, policy makers, maritime and shipping industry.
The added value of the IMPRESSIVE platform is reflected in the combination of various sophisticated technologies/techniques for earth observation, robotics and advanced mathematical models, for the development of this integrated, universal and replicable system, based on satellite images, autonomous vehicles and Copernicus Marine products. Most importantly, the platform is a supportive tool to achieve at a low cost a better port management which provides the end user with all needed information to control pollution incidents.
