Launch of the 2020 Report of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change

The 2020 report of The Lancet Countdown on health and climate change: responding to converging crises underlines the importance of aligning the global COVID-19 recovery with our response to climate change to protect health, promote a sustainable economy, and preserve our planet.

The report, edited by the excellent journal on medical science, is the result of an internationally renowned research collaboration that brings together more than 120 leading experts ranging from 38 academic institutions and UN agencies from all over the world. The CMCC Foundation is among such institutions, giving its contribution to the Working Group on “Climate change impacts, exposures, and vulnerabilities”.

Shouro Dasgupta, Researcher of the ECIP Division (CMCC Foundation), will be keynote speaker at the first Bangladeshi Launch of the Report on Thursday – 10 December 2020 (8:00 PM BD/14:00 GMT/16:00 CEST), where he has been invited to present the Report.

The event will be held online and is organized by the Department of Public Health and Informatics, Jahangirnagar University. It will provide an opportunity to discuss the latest data on how climate change is affecting our health, the consequences of delayed action and the health benefits of a robust response.
