The international workshop entitled: “Atmospheric Composition Changes: Climate-Chemistry Interactions” will take place in Lecce (Sala Conferenze del Rettorato – University of Salento) from the 2nd to the 4th of November 2009.

The principal aim of the ACC-CCI International Workshop is to involve scientists and institutions in a discussion forum on the influence of aerosol on climate. Changes in atmospheric composition by anthropogenic aerosols will largely affect climate and hence human health, food production, and economy. The good understanding of processes that contribute to define how human-produced aerosols affect climate and the reproduction of these processes in models are main tasks to reducing uncertainties in aerosol climate effects and producing better predictions of Earth’s future climate. An advanced, multi-disciplinary approach that integrates surface and space-based measurements with models will have to be developed to achieve the goal of reducing uncertainties in aerosol impacts on climate.
