Anna Pirani, Focal Point alternate for Italy and CMCC, will present the details of the Call for expertslaunched by the IPCC to participate in the Scoping Meeting for the Special Report on Climate Change and Cities,  and will interact with the audience in the Q&A session.

The Scoping Meeting will result in a Scoping Paper describing the objectives and the annotated outline of the Special Report, as well as the process and timeline for its preparation that will be considered by the IPCC at its 61st Plenary Session to decide the scope, outline and workplan on the Special Report.

TheIPCC Focal Point for Italywill collect nominations from national experts and submit those meeting the expertise criteria and minimum application standards to the IPCC Bureau, which will conduct the final selection.

The webinar will be hosted byAnna Pirani, Focal Point alternate for Italy and, who also served as executive editor of theIPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°Cand theAR6 Working Group I 2021 Climate Report on the physical science basis of climate change, and was an author of the IPCC AR6 Synthesis Report. The webinar will include a Q&A session and is open to all.
