The presentation of the book “Regional Assessment of Climate Change in the Mediterranean” will take place in Venezia (Island of San Giorgio Maggiore) on September 12th, 2013, at 5pm.
The “Regional Assessment of Climate Change in the Mediterranean” (Editors: Antonio Navarra, Laurence Tubiana) is a three-volume summary of four years of research from the Integrated Project CIRCE, led by Italy’s CMCC and National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology. This report examines climate variability and trends in the Mediterranean region and their relationship to global climate change. It begins with analyzing atmospheric changes, water resources, agriculture, and socio-economic impacts, including migration, health, and tourism. Additionally, the report outlines strategies for intervention based on eleven key case studies. This is likely the first detailed analysis of such a significant area that remains relatively under-researched concerning climate change.
