On 8 October 2026, a group of EU-funded research and innovation projects working on water resilience and climate adaptation will come together at the House of the Austrian Economy (AT60), for a policy event focused on the contribution of science to the implementation of the European Water Resilience Strategy and the wider EU water acquis.

The event will explore how research and innovation can better inform European water policy and support the implementation of the European Water Resilience Strategy and the EU water acquis. Led by TRANSCEND and WE-ACT, the event will bring together policymakers, water managers, researchers and other stakeholders to discuss evidence-based approaches to more resilient water management.

The discussion will focus on three key areas: water governance, water scarcity and data-driven management tools, highlighting research findings and innovative solutions developed by European projects. CMCC, as a partner in TRANSCEND, will contribute to the exchange of research evidence and policy proposals, alongside other projects and initiatives working on water resilience.

Through project presentations and a panel discussion, the event will explore how research findings can be more effectively taken up in European water policy and translated into practical action.
