On 28th of October will take place the second Naturethon webinar. Nature-based Solutions experts Marcelo Gerlach and Shreya Utkarsh from ICLEI Europe will introduce the Youth Inclusion Toolkit for Local Authorities, developed through a co-creative process within the NBS EduWorld project.
The toolkit offers 12 flexible tools to engage young people in local decision-making — from hackathons and role-playing games to youth councils, participatory mapping, innovative citizen science methods, and activities in “third spaces” such as parks and libraries.
Following this, Nicolas Keller, Sustainability Educator at Växtverket, and Ludwig Wahlund Sonesson, Project Manager at the City of Malmö, will illustrate how the City of Malmö, Sweden—one of the Arcadia project‘s Co-Innovation Labs—orchestrated anetwork of local associations to engage diverse citizen groups in the development of urban Nature-Based Solutions, with a focus on community and sustainability.
The two presentations will be followed by a Q&A session and an interactive workshop for groups enrolled in — or interested in — the Naturethon journey, where participants will start co-developing NbS ideas tailored to their own local context.
The Naturethon “Seeds of Change — Citizens growing a Nature-based Future” is an initiative developed by the CMCC Foundation within the framework of the NATURANCE project. It engages citizen groups with the concept and opportunities of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), fostering constructive dialogue within European communities (and beyond). The first edition will take place in autumn 2025.
ORGANIZED BY:
NATURANCE is a Horizon Europe project that examines the technical, financial, and operational feasibility and performance of solutions that are built upon and combine disaster risk financing & investments with nature-based solutions.
