Malik Aljabu holds a Master’s degree in Science of Management (MSc) from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan, Italy). The degree had a particular focus on the European social, economic, and legal framework.
His passion for volunteering and activism began in 2017, after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Science of Economics (BSc). His journey in the non-profit sector started when he joined a non-governmental organization focused on women’s rights and gender equality. He participated in various projects aimed at empowering women, combating domestic violence, and supporting women’s political engagement in Libya. He performed project management tasks including financial management, reporting, and procurement.
In addition to his managerial skills, Malik is a qualified emergency social worker and “Tutor of Resilience.” He worked in the field as a social worker for children in migration detention centers in Tripoli, Libya. His role was to provide psychosocial support to children and their mothers. He also contributed to the creation of the first child-friendly space in a detention center in Libya.
Malik joined CMCC in Dec 2022 and works as a Project Manager within the Advanced Digital Innovation Center (ADIC). His responsibilities include project oversight, financial and risk management, and monitoring and evaluation. He also supports the center in fundraising activities and proposal preparation. Leveraging his background in human resources management, Malik assists the center’s director and manager with internal HR tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, and staff management.
