Marco De Carlo received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Salento, with a thesis focused on software design principles. He then received his Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the same university, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and High Performance Computing. During his studies, he started collaborating with the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) as Research Intern, working on the integration of machine learning techniques with numerical models.
Since November 2023, Marco has been a Post-Degree Researcher and member of the Machine Learning research group within the Advanced Digital Innovation Center (ADIC) of CMCC. His research focuses on the study of coupled models that integrate machine learning with numerical models, as well as cutting-edge, fully data-driven approaches, with the goal of improving the monitoring, prediction, and analysis of climate-related phenomena. Marco also actively contributes to different cross-institutional research projects, applying machine learning and advanced computational methods to address complex environmental and climate challenges.
