Giorgio Micaletto holds a Post Degree position at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) as member of the HEC (High End Computing) research group within the Advanced Scientific Computing (ASC) division.
He received the Bachelor’s degree in Information Engineering in 2014 from the University of Salento, with a thesis on “Simultaneous Multithreading in Parallel Architectures”.
His research activity focuses on high performance computing and he works on the optimization and parallelization of climate models, such as SHYFEM (Shallow water Hydrodynamic Finite Element Model) in the SANIFS (South Adriatic North Ionian Forecast System) and uMEDBS (Unstructured-grid MEDiterranean and Black Sea system) configurations.
