Giorgio Micaletto holds a Research Associate position at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC Foundation) as member of the HEC (High End Computing) research group within the Advanced Digital Innovation (ADIC) Center.

He received the Bachelor’s degree in Information Engineering in 2014 from the University of Salento, with a thesis on “Simultaneous Multithreading in Parallel Architectures”.

Since 2014, he has been working at CMCC on activities concerning the optimization and parallelization of climate models, such as SHYFEM (Shallow water Hydrodynamic Finite Element Model) in different configurations.

His research activity focuses on high performance computing with particular focus on the analysis and optimization of unstructured grid models on multi-cores hybrid architecture, He deals with partitioning problems of unstructured grids and currently works on the design and implementation of a new global unstructured grid model.
