The 2^nd International Workshop of the GODAE Ocean View Coastal Oceans and Shelf Seas Task Teams (COSS – TT) will be held in Lecce from the 4 – 7 February 2013, hosted by the “Coastal Operational Oceanography and Climate Change Impacts” Group of the Euro – Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC).
The main objectives of the workshop are to review ongoing coastal ocean forecasting projects in the world coastal oceans (with a particular focus on system updates, progress and challenges since the first workshop held in Miami on January 10 – 12, 2012), to discuss background scientific advances and decide common actions in some particular areas, and to enhance international collaboration and regional alliances.
During the workshop, priority themes, such as integrated coastal observations and data assimilation, downscaling to coastal regions, and coastal applications, will be discussed.
