Imagine the Earth was made only of water and try to study the atmosphere under these conditions in order to have tools useful to predict droughts and floods. That’s what Aquaplanet made. It is a circulation model of the atmosphere which has been developed by Giavanni Zappa’s research. Dr. Zappa is one of the first to conclude the PhD programme in Science and Management of Climate Change at University Ca’ Foscari in Venice.

The research was conducted in collaboration with the Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change and the results are published in the  Journal of the Atmospheric Science (rif. G. Zappa,V. Lucarini, A. Navarra, Vol 68, 1023-1040, JAS, 2011).
