CMCC joins the European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage
Launching in Marseille, the new European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage brings together research, policy and cultural heritage communities across Europe, with CMCC contributing as a partner to strengthen the connection between climate science and cultural heritage.
The European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage (RCH) will officially launch on 29 September 2026 at the Mucem – Musée des civilisations de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée in Marseille, France.
The kick-off event will bring together policymakers, researchers, practitioners, funding organisations and representatives of civil society to present the vision and objectives of the new Partnership and discuss the future of research at the intersection of cultural heritage and climate change.
Bringing together 90 partners from 30 countries, the RCH Partnership aims to strengthen the coordination and structuring of research on climate-resilient cultural heritage across Europe, while adopting a global perspective. The initiative will also explore how cultural heritage can contribute to addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
As a partner in the RCH Partnership, CMCC will contribute to strengthening the connection between climate science, cultural heritage and policymaking, supporting the transfer of scientific knowledge into policies and practices at European and international level.
The event is open to participation in person or online.
