Posted on

This Earth Day, we celebrate the most creative and impactful climate change communication initiatives from around the world. The CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change launches the CMCC Climate Change Communication Award “Rebecca Ballestra” and invites candidates to submit innovative and ongoing projects from across the world in the field of the communication of climate change.

Climate change: from journalism to arts, from data visualization to literature, from comics to music, theatre, radio, photographs, and any form of communication that has the potential to inform people, improve awareness of one of the most prominent challenges of our times and engage the public to bring the change we need.

We want to award the best initiatives and projects that contribute to building a more sustainable future through communication.

On Earth Day 2021, the CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change is pleased to announce the launch of the CMCC Climate Change Communication Award “Rebecca Ballestra”. The Award is open to individuals, teams or organizations proposing projects, initiatives and tools from across the world in the field of the communication of climate change and already available to the public.

The CMCC Climate Change Communication Award honours the memory of the artist Rebecca Ballestra, who was committed to shaping a sustainable future and promoting positive transformation processes in the fields of science, humanities, economy, ecology and art. Ballestra also collaborated with the CMCC Foundation in cultural initiatives such as the Festival for the Earth – sustainable visions in art and science.

Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2021. Submitted projects will be evaluated by a jury composed of highly qualified members representing the multidisciplinary nature of climate change communication.

The finalists and the winner of the CMCC Climate Change Communication Award “Rebecca Ballestra” – together with any special mentions that the jury may decide to make – will be announced during a high-level event that will be held in autumn 2021.
