On Tuesday, 9th December, the Scientific Director of CMCC appeared before the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee on hydrogeological and seismic risk in Italy, discussing the implementation of prevention and safety regulations, as well as emergency and reconstruction measures following the catastrophic events since 2019.
During his speech, Boccaletti offered observations, data, and comments on recent hydrogeological events in Italy, framing the issue from a scientific perspective, highlighting the links between climate change and the complex structure of the Italian territory, and providing some insights into potential tools and methods to address the problem effectively.
