Italian climate under observation

Posted on

Model simulations could reveal in the future reliable tools for reproducing the main features of the Italian climate and for realizing impact studies on local scale.
That’s what CMCC researchers tried to assess: in a new CMCC’s research paper (RP0183), researchers Edoardo Bucchignani, Paola Mercogliano, Maria Paola Manzi, Myriam Montesarchio and Valeria Rillo from ISC Division presented the results of a dynamically downscaled high resolution (about 8 km) climate simulation over Italy, produced with COSMO-CLM model, forced by ERA-Interim reanalysis and covering the time period from 1979 to 2011.
