Strategies for a Climate Transition to become more resilient, connected and collaborative. This is the main objective of the project “Un filo naturale” of the Municipality of Brescia, Urban Center Brescia and Museo Scienze Naturali Brescia realized in partnership with AmbienteParco, CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) and Parco delle Colline di Brescia.

The Municipality of Brescia, with Urban Center Brescia, Museo Scienze Naturali Brescia and the offices of “Pianificazione Urbana edilizia e mobilità”, “Tutela ambientale verde sostenibilità e protezione civile”, “Cultura Creatività e innovazione”, in partnership with AmbienteParco, CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) and Parco delle Colline di Brescia, adopted a Strategy of Climate Transition in the framework of the project “Un Filo Naturale”.

The project moved its first steps in the 2020, when the Municipality of Brescia participated in Bando Cariplo “Strategia clima” being selected for a strategic funding by Fondazione Cariplo. The Municipality of Brescia, with the support of the high-level professionals and technical experts selected By Fondazione Cariplo, has therefore realized the document “Strategia di Transizione Climatica per il territorio di Brescia” recently approved (and available here), to be implemented through short-term and long- term specific actions.

On July 2, 2021, the launch event “Alleanze per la transizione climatica: le strategie di transizione climatica del Comune di Brescia e della Brianza Ovest” took place (here the registration of the event – Brescia from 1:19:00).

More information on the project “Un filo naturale” are available on the official website of the Municipality of Brescia.

Alfredo Reder, CMCC scientist at REMHIRegional Models and geo-Hydrological Impacts Division, is the scientific leader of the activities that the CMCC Foundation will develop in the framework of the project. The CMCC research team of REMHI and ISCD Divisions will deal in particular with realizing an analysis of the current climate context and of the future climate scenarios for the municipality of Brescia, while disseminating these scientific contents and enhancing the role of the actions envisaged at the local scale. Moreover, the CMCC will foster the document Strategia di Transizione climatica throught its network at the national and international level.
