Mediterranean Sea Biogeochemical Analysis and Forecast (CMEMS MED-Biogeochemistry, MedBFM3 system)

MEDSEA_ANALYSISFORECAST_BGC_006_014_MEDBFM3

Short Description

The biogeochemical analysis and forecasts for the Mediterranean Sea at 1/24 degree are produced by means of the MedBFM model system (i.e. the physical-biogeochemical OGSTM-BFM model coupled with the 3DVarBio assimilation scheme). MedBFM is offline coupled with the CMEMS Med-physics system. MedBFM, which is run by OGS, produces ten days of forecast every day and the analysis of the previous seven days once a week (on Tuesday) with the assimilation of surface chlorophyll (i.e., CMEMS-OCTAC satellite data) and insitu profiles of chlorophyll and nitrate (i.e., BGC-Argo float data).
