The 2010 International Energy Workshop has been organised in cooperation with the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, from June 21 to 23, 2010.
The International Energy Workshop (IEW), first held in 1981, is an informal network of analysts actively working on international
energy issues.
The IEW provides a venue for scholars and researchers to compare quantitative energy projections and to analyse the interrelationship between climate
change and energy. This years meeting included three plenary sessions and approximately 130 papers covering a wide array of topics.
Researchers and practitioners in developed and developing countries were invited to submit original papers with new and innovative results on scientific or practical experiences that focus on the following main topics:
- Climate change mitigation and adaptation
- Energy and transport modelling
- Economics of Low Carbon Technologies
CMCC participated to the workshop with a number of affiliated researchers who presented the latest development in their field of research:
- Energy from waste: generation potential, mitigation opportunity and option value by Francesco Bosello, Lorenza Campagnolo, Fabio Eboli, Ramiro Parrado. (Results of the E=MC2 project).
- Energy efficiency and energy
security in Europe by Andrea Bigano, Roberta
Pierfederici, Emanuela
Menichetti, Franceline Beretti
- Factors affecting energy
efficiency and carbon intensity
of fossil power generation: a
cross country empirical study by Ivan Hascic, Nick Johnstone,
Elena Verdolini
- Human capital formation and
global warming mitigation:
evidence from an integrated
assessment model by Carlo Carraro, Enrica De
Cian, Massimo Tavoni
- Investment scenarios in new
generation power grids across
the Mediterranean by Emanuele Massetti, Elena
Claire Ricci
- Overlapping policies under
multiple uncertainties: a
numerical evaluation by Massimo Tavoni, Enrica De
Cian - Investments and financial flows
induced by climate change
mitigation policies by Andrea Bastianin, Alice
Favero, Emanuele Massetti
- A numerical analysis of
optimal extraction and trade
of oil under climate policy by Fabio Sferra, Emanuele
Massetti
