Adaptation AGORA, coordinated by the CMCC Foundation, has launched “Voices of Climate Adaptation”, an interactive online platform that brings the human stories of climate resilience to the forefront of European adaptation efforts.
Content by the CMCC Adaptation AGORA team.
CMCC Foundation, is excited to announce the publication of its Digital Handbook “Voices of Climate Adaptation”. Intended as a definitive final product, the website is an interactive, multimedia resource that consolidates all the knowledge generated by the project into a comprehensive, accessible and exploitable format.
Voices of climate adaptation is designed to be the ultimate reference for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers seeking to implement effective climate adaptation strategies, drawing inspiration from the stories and pathways of the protagonists of the Adaptation AGORA project. It rigorously gathers and integrates all the lessons learned and successful methodologies validated across Adaptation AGORA’s four European pilot regions (Germany, Sweden, Spain, and Italy) through the voices of the stakeholders involved in the project. This resource provides a clear, step-by-step guide on how to co-design and co-implement resilient solutions for climate change challenges in urban contexts with different geographical and cultural backgrounds.
The website was designed to offer multiple levels of navigation.
The first level revolves around the main themes addressed by the project, which build on specific experiences to open broader topics of interest for those working on local adaptation processes. The second level of navigation invites users to explore the individual experiences of each pilot region, where a tailored narrative has been developed based on the topics addressed, the stakeholders involved, and the results achieved. The final level of navigation provides direct access to the voices of the protagonists, through a gallery that brings together their insights and perspectives. To ensure a shared and consistent understanding of the topics, a glossary is linked throughout the platform via the navigation keywords.
This knowledge integration process was only possible through the collaborative spirit of the entire AGORA community, who’s the collective voice at the heart of this story. We extend our sincere thanks to the Followers who tested and provided feedback on our early methodologies and tools, and to all stakeholders, citizens, scientists, and local authorities, whose active engagement ensured the website’s content is practical, relevant, and grounded in real-world application.
The website is specifically structured to ensure the transferability and scale-up of Adaptation AGORA’s results, ensuring a tangible legacy to the project and supporting the longevity and impact of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change well beyond the project’s conclusion.

About Adaptation AGORA
Adaptation AGORA is a Horizon Europe project coordinated by the CMCC Foundation that promotes just and inclusive climate adaptation across the continent. It aims to empower local communities through a multidisciplinary, integrated approach and four European pilot studies (Germany, Sweden, Spain, Italy). On a side of the digital handbook the project developed other three core digital tools, including a Community Hub, Digital Academies, and a Mobile App to enhance awareness about climate change and climate adaptation. It acts as a dynamic meeting point where citizens, experts, and scientists share knowledge to co-design and implement resilient solutions. Ultimately, Adaptation AGORA supports the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change by fostering a pan-European community of informed and active citizens.
