The meeting is organized by CMCC together with the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea.
The LCS-RNet is an international network of research institutions, established under the auspices of G8 Governments in 2008, whose objective is to contribute to global effort to tackle climate change and facilitate transition to low-carbon societies from the current socio-economic structures.

The aim of the Annual Researchers Meeting is to gather leading researchers actively engaged in the study of low-carbon societies to promote information exchange and research cooperation, as well as dialogue between different stakeholders on the issue of low-carbon societies.
During the First Annual Researchers Meeting particular emphasis will be given to:

  • LCS in the political context
  • LCS and green growth
  • National LCS pathways
  • LCS and technology innovation
  • LCA and behavioural changes

What is expected from the Bologna meeting is a valid output and practical recommendations to be provided to international policy-making processes on climate change.
