The French agency for oceanographic forecasts Mercator Ocean (http://www.mercator-ocean.fr) is the Programme Manager of the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) funded by the European Commission for the period 2014-2020 (http://marine.copernicus.eu).

Mercator Ocean instructed the Ligurian Cluster of Marine Technology (DLTM) – which has the support of the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC) and Spezia EPS – Euroinformazione Promozione Sviluppo of the Chamber of Commerce of La Spezia – to organize a workshop on 3-4 December, 2015 in order to show to Companies and Research Institutes all the data and products developed within the CMEMS Program. These products are open and free, can be freely used and implemented for specific activities in the marine environment (navigation, forecasting weather and sea, dispersion of floating objects of pollutants, offshore activities, etc.).

The workshop will be divided into two days: the first one will be devoted to the presentation and discussion of the data products made available by the Copernicus Marine Service, the second one to train the users on accessing data and use them for their applications.
