The COSMO General Meeting 2026 in Rome brings together representatives from national meteorological services and research institutions from Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Greece, Italy, Israel, and Romania, as well as other major members of the COSMO community, including the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC).
During the meeting, participants will discuss recent developments and new applications of the ICON modelling system, including ICON-A, ICON-O, and ICON-ART, covering a broad range of topics such as model physics and dynamics, Data Assimilation, Verification and Applications, Support and Infrastructure, and the development of Ensemble Prediction System capabilities. These topics will be addressed within dedicated working groups.
CMCC will take part in the event with its REMHI Division, which will present its latest scientific and technical achievements in several key areas, including Data Assimilation, the ICON coupling system for ocean–atmosphere interactions, and ICON-ART.
