The Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) will participate in the 2026 EUMETSAT Meteorological Satellite Conference, taking place in Darmstadt, Germany, from 21 to 25 September 2026. The conference marks the 40th anniversary of EUMETSAT and brings together experts and researchers from the international meteorological and Earth observation communities.

Over the years, the EUMETSAT User Conference has become a key annual meeting for sharing knowledge, research and experience on the use of meteorological satellite data. The 2026 edition, themed “40th Anniversary of EUMETSAT – Advancing Earth System Satellites for Europe and Beyond”, will explore the role of satellite observations in advancing weather forecasting, climate monitoring and environmental applications.

On Wednesday, 23 September, at 09:00 CEST, CMCC researcher Annalisa Bracco will deliver the plenary talk “What the Ocean Is Telling Us: Satellites, AI, and a Changing Climate”, highlighting how satellite observations, artificial intelligence, data assimilation, in situ measurements and numerical models can advance our understanding and prediction of the ocean and support responses to rapid environmental change.
